a monday rant.

it's monday, and rainy, which is actually nice. however, i have nothing to share or show you. it was a party-party weekend, and i finally got the press working. so later, i will have some photos to share, and my first brilliant letterpress experiment, but for now i just have quiet.

unless, of course, i say what i'm really thinking, and that is: even though we are all bloggers and on the internet, why does no one seem to edit their content? i agree that if you sell stationery, you should not talk about your stationary line, and would it really kill you to proofread your content before publishing it? does no one care about these things anymore? i could have a career as a blog proofreader if they did.
humph. i am feeling like a spinster lately. perhaps this is just more evidence.

  1. Hah! Now THAT'S an unforgivable typo ...

Say, lady, can I hop on your blogroll? Popped you into mine a couple of days ago.

  2. Now I'm all worried that you hate me because my blog is RIDDLED with typos. I can't be bothered to proofread and am a terrible speller. Am I a bad person? Please advise.

  3. I think it's laziness, LB. And that people don't take pride in how they write, how they dress, how they love. It's a lazy little American attitude of oh-I-owe-you-nothing-really.

  4. P: i definitely do not hate you. you have a lot of attributes that make up for any punctuation/spelling errors. like, your stories are hilarious, for one thing. and also, you have a boyfriend (i'm not bitter, i swear!). maybe if i had one of those i would have, ahem, more interesting things to pay attention to than everyone's english.
or, you could hire me to edit your blog! right, probably not worth it.

  5. I'm glad the press is working. And I don't think having a companion would void an interest in proofreading blogs.

  6. I think errors in blogs are greatly due to the fact that the people writing them are usually moms and/or people with very busy lives. Most blogs are updated in the wee hours of the morning and then it's off to work, or kids wake up and demand attention. I think having little time and much to do makes for many blog mistakes.

  7. haha, mel. you are probably right.
birdy--that is totally understandable, but i am particularly ranting about professional blogs. which is maybe why i am so appalled.

  8. i believe that constant partial attention is the culprit. and kimberly, "how they love" now that is just plain convicting.

  9. will you stop writing posts and then not posting them??? i get all excited by some provocative title and lead-in on my dashboard, and then the "page is not found" fine. keep your thoughts to yourself. see if i care.

  11. Just as we all suspected, multi-tasking is overrated.(Should that be hyphenated? Yikes!)
